Ginger and Turmeric Tea is one of our Winter favorites here at Juicey Lucy's, and we thought we'd share some of the amazing properties of these two very special spices.
Ginger is one of the best digestive aids in the plant kingdom. In addition to helping to break down proteins and fats, it is used to fight nausea, motion sickness, abdominal bloating and gas. Ginger's antibacterial properties can help avoid the formation of ulcers in the mouth, liver and stomach. Ginger also supports circulatory health and a healthy heart. It's very valuable in cold and flu season, as it warms the body and breaks down congestion. Gargling with ginger tea can also help a sore throat. It has been used to treat depression, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and toothache, and is a great way to freshen your breath!
Both Ginger and Turmeric have been used for centuries for their anti-viral, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. They aid in the prevention of infections, the treatment of arthritis, and support the liver, helping to protect it from toxins. Turmeric, especially, also shows promise in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and arthritis.
